very first flock! I’m honestly unsure of what i’m doing but i’ve been doing research all night, i just wanna help this lil guy survive!

Incubation isn’t something I know much about, but the egg looks far along, being cold that far along doesn’t bode well.

No to the float test. You can push bacteria into the eggs. Does the egg smell? Kinda looks rotten to me. If it's only a week of incubation you should only see veins and a small blob. No expert either.

If this lil buddy has any chance of survival i want to do everything in my power to help them survive, but if not then i’d like to hold a little funeral for them. If there’s a clear indicator that this little guy is dead please let me know! I’ve been incubating them for about 12 hours now and still no sign of mother. (Photos attached are screenshots from video I took)

You could incubate for several more days, then candle and take photos again.
A live, healthy gosling will grow larger during that time.
A dead one will not.
That is the best method I know for checking whether the embryo in the egg is alive or dead.

Also, if it starts to stink like rotten egg, that would probably mean it's dead.
