is my hen broody

to nights ago i went to close the coop door my duccle was on the nest that she lays in not on the roosting bars the next morining she got right off her nest and then went back on later she kept on getting off and getting back on then later in the day she never went back to the nest that night i went to go and close the coop door she was not on the roosting bars but not on her nest she was making a low bocking sound nonstop today i went to open the coop door for the day she went right out of the coop i just went to go and check and see if she had laid a egg no egg but she was not in the nest i was looking around for a egg and she came behide me making that low bocking sound she is only 6 months old and she did not lay yesterday and still waiting for her egg to day is she broody in the time that she was on the nest she looked broody she was all flattened out

Maybe she’s trying. It’s a hormone thing. I have 2 young broodies that are 6 months old right now. The one just hatched 5 chicks over the weekend.
 
Really just depends on the chicken. Some decide that "nah, I don't wanna go broody" some will go broody, but quite a week later. If you are not interested in having her try to hatch eggs, I highly suggest you break her of broodiness.
 
Reason 1: Broody hens can try to brood for a long time. Once she goes "full broody" she will sit on that nest all day, only coming off once a day for a quick snack, drink, and gigantic poop. Its hard on their bodies to brood too long.

Reason 2: Broody hen = no eggs. Broody hens don't lay eggs.

the egg thing is not a problem i have a flock of 10 9 hens 1 rooster so i will alwas have eggs
