I just started this chicken thing & I have 1 bird I am worried about. I started with adult birds because they are less work & you get faster results. Well I have 1 silkie bantie that has leg mites pretty bad which I am treating. The thing is she doesn't like to leave the coop. The other birds jump out first thing in the morning & she sits inside all day.
I'm trying to decide if she is broody, or sick. Since I've never had a chicken before how do I tell. This morning I just picked her up & put her in the pen with the others & she seemed happy as ever. Could her legs be bothering her so much she doesn't want to climb down the ramp?
