Yesterday my hen was laying on the coop floor for a couple of hours. Then she got up and foraged. Today she sat in the nest for some time, then left to forage. Her wattle and comb are cherry red, no droopy wings or tail, no pumping, waddling, or other signs of egg binding other than sitting for too long in the nest and sitting on the floor.
Should I do an examination of her vent as recommended in the egg binding article? I don't want to needlessly excite her.
Thanks
