So you don't know if they were laying before you got them or not?
I bought one adult hen, and she laid a couple eggs after we got her, and then didn't lay again for over a month. Sometimes the stress of a move can put chickens off laying for a month or more. If they didn't have lights on them in the winter, they can also stop laying for the winter.
It's my understanding that chickens WILL lay, at least occasionally, up until they die.
So, I figure your silkies are one or more of the following:
1- too young to lay
2- stressed from the move and not laying
3- not laying due to lack of light, and will start once they are exposed to the sun enough hours a day.
Please keep in mind I just *THINK* I know everything, and I actually don't. There's other folks here who know a LOT more about chickens than I do, and if one of them comes along and says something different, believe them.
