Hi!

If I post this in the wrong thread, feel free to let me know! If I did post this in the wrong thread, I am truly sorry. If I am in the right thread you can ignore this message. Thank you!

For the past week or so, we have been tracking this feral cat with 3 kittens. We have had 2 wonderful kittens of hers before at separate times however, when we got them, they were much older and it was easier to tell their gender. This kitten is much younger and I am so lost!

Any help would be greatly appreciated! If you know how to tell their genders please let me know! I can post pictures of needed.

Thank you!

You will need to examine the genitals of the kittens. Its easier to tell the older they get. Lift up their tail and examine the area below the rectum. If its a female the vagina will look like a vertical slit. If its a male it will look like a little dot with one hole in the middle. Thats the only way to know for sure. As they get older you might notice a few other things. Male cats are typically bulkier than females with stockier bodies and faces. Since they are feral you might not be able to get a hold of them to check. You might just have to wait until they are older. Not sure what age it happens but the males will develop testicles. That will be your dead giveaway. Hope this helps

Thank you so much for your help! Checking now!

Can you take a picture? The female looks like an upside down exclamation point. I'm pretty good at determining kitten sex. Wish I could do it with chickens!
You are right about the chickens. I can't tell you how many times I have been given a rooster that turned out to be a hen.
