We are just now putting up the run around the new coop. I am using approximately 200 ft of wire (conservative estimate) .... which would be the perimeter. Since it is not an easily defined space... kind of a drunken square

.... for easy math I assumed 50 ft per side. That would make 2500 square feet which would mean it has room enough for 250 chickens????? The run just does not look that big to me? I can NOT imagine having 250 chickens in there? We will have about 50-60 plus or minus a few and it looks just adequate for that.

Although my 10 hens are going to be pretty upset when they loose free range (over 3 acres) priviledges.

according to the math, yes, you have enough room for 250 chickens!!! I'm so jealous!!!!

my run is 15x25, and based on that estimate I've got enough room for like 30 chickens. I'm going a bit under 10 sq ft per chicken, though.....at least until I extend the run....I put 15 chickens out there when I first built the thing and it didn't look anywhere near big enough!!!! It is, though.....Good luck!!!! At least now you have an excuse to get 250 chickens!!!! LOL!!!
