Body is more curved and rounded I guess the carnucles is my main thing and the fact it’s never laid an egg?

thank you for illustration, that curve is how I use to tell them apart when we first git them. the other ducks curve was always quite full and plump looking, this ones quite small in comparisonView attachment 1662473

To be more specific, I am looking at the drop off behind the tail, in a drake it is nearly flat while in a hen it is curved.
This would help to prove that the hen has not laid or set eggs yet. That curve is still a bit much for a drake to have.thank you for illustration, that curve is how I use to tell them apart when we first git them. the other ducks curve was always quite full and plump looking, this ones quite small in comparison

This is a great tip that I had not heard before. I remember reading about “boat shaped” vs. some other shape, but I never really knew what it meant. This makes sense. Thank you! Those Drakes are exactly what I'm use to seeing, but the no laying is what makes me second guess myself. I grew up on a trukey and emu farm and everything layed. Could there be a reason she hasn't layed? This would help to prove that the hen has not laid or set eggs yet. That curve is still a bit much for a drake to have.
x2, I hate them. Some of them look like they can't even see. The hens that they are bred to have a LOT of caruncle too, compared to your average hen.I have seen show quality drakes pretty disgusting and not anything like a true Muscovy should look.
Not sure. I have a leghorn hen who has not laid yet and she is two years old. I guess it can just happen sometimes but I really have no ideaThose Drakes are exactly what I'm use to seeing, but the no laying is what makes me second guess myself. Some sort of reproductive issue, possibly genetic?
