Is my portable mini coop safe enough?

Don't forget, now that NC is overrun with transplants and forcing animals to migrate we now have coyotes and BEARS in Raleigh. Did you see on the news the momma and baby black bears strolling through a subdivision in Raleigh?

I heard a snippet of that on the news but wasn't really paying attention. That's INSANE!

Oh, and

about the 'transplants' part. I was born at Rex hospital, but DH was born in CT. He's been here since '78 though so I think his roots are pretty deep now.

Transplants?

I resemble that remark... I guess it's better than the other thing you guys call us down here, though! ;-) (Despite being here most of my life, apparently I still have an accent and get "Y'all ain't from `round heyah, are ya'?" OFTEN.

ANYWAY...I like your set up. It's cute and a great idea that I might use later for a grow out pen or broody mom and babes. I'd have to use smaller wire, though as we DO have predators.

Transplant isn't a hateful name to call someone, IMO. I work with a northern transplant and she calls herself one so I figured people don't get offended by it. If it was offensive then I apologize, didn't mean it that way. It is a simple fact though that NC is overrun with people, sad but true. But hey, there's nothing we can do about it. I'm more upset about the illegal transplants than anything else.

Don't worry, I don't mind LEGAL transplants... I married one!

What part of NC are you in?

We're going to make a second tractor and separate the standards from the bantams. I don't think there would be enough room in there for 5 grown chickens, unless they were all banties. My two standards are already so big compared to the little ones! If I can talk DH into it, I'll use the current one for the banties and make the new one a foot wider for the standards.
