I just went to the Rhode Island Red breed page for fun. My pullet has a prominent comb just like the cockerel in that page.
Am I right? This little one is my faveroit, very quite and loves to cuddle. If it's a rooster I will not be able to keep him/her even though I want to.
Sorry about the unclear pictures, I have lost my camera and has to borrow the stores. I find it Ill be able to upload better pictures.

Hard to tell this early, but those huge honkin feet and legs look rooish to me more than the comb. What a foundation on that bird! Hope it is a hen, but.....I dunno

I bought my two 'pullets' at the same time. They are supposed to be the same age, hatching in the same incubator on the same day.
However this one has large feet, a larger comb, more feathers and the tail feathers are also very high set...it all sounds like rooster.

I won't be rash even if she is a he, I'll try to find him a good home.

Could still be a pullet. How old? I am sure we can find you a brooder mate for the other one...

I wasn't very clear in my last post. You will have to pry this baby from my cold dead hands. Regardless of gender. Worst comes to worse and I must let him go, I will be sure to find him only the best home.
Age is a rough estimate but when I purchased them they looked younger than a week. So perhaps two weeks or so.

Silly- I wasn't going to take him! But I do know people with chicks of varying ages...or someone with a serious hatching addiction.
