We recently got our first flock of straight run chickens and I was curious if you fellow Buff lovers could tell if our girl Honey is a full blood Orpington. We have 3 buff hens and 2 roosters that are mature so I'm not sure what to look for in the pullets.

Does she have some black tail feathers? Or is that just something in the background in that last pic? She almost looks a little too dark to be a buff orp by blood. And if she has some black tail feathers then she isn't.

I wasn't even paying attention! I could have answered my own question. She does have a touch of black on the tail feathers only! Hahaha That's ok, I don't mind her being a mix breed as we are using our chickens mainly for pets and eggs! We do have some full blooded Orps if we change our mind ;) thanks!

thanks!

Yes, those last two are defiantly full blood orps. The one you're questioning doesn't appear to be.

Yeah now that I noticed the black in the feathers she obviously isn't. But I do think she has some in her blood! Thanks again for your reply!
