Hi everyone! New to the group here. We got our chickens less than 2 weeks ago (they’re roughly 12ish weeks old) and one of our two roosters is almost always laying on the ground and just seems lethargic. We brought them all outside yesterday and he pecked around for a little then laid down. I’ve seen him eat and drink on occasion and sometimes he’s up and moving around, but a majority of the time I see him he’s laying down.
I managed to see him poop yesterday and it was mostly clear… no other chickens seem affected or anything. Is he lazy? Sick? I’ve put diatomaceous earth around their coop. We’ve got dirt/pine shaving floor, they always have food/water access and they have a dust bath. This is our first time owning chickens I want to make sure im doing everything I can to take good care of them!
Thanks!
