have a young rooster not sure how young. I only got him a couple months ago. He has been crowing fine for a lil over a month. Then a few weeks ago I noticed he wasn't waking me up in the mornings, turns out he is still crowing but it is a very hoarse sounding crow. Almost like he has laryngitis. I was told he will grow out of it and start crowing normal again, but I figured this was the place to ask. Has anybody ever had anything like that happen and will he be ok.

Im not really sure, Iver never had this happen. Hopefully he will grow out of it. Maybe someone else will be able to help you better than I can. Besides the crowing is there anything else wrong with him that you can tell?

The best thing to do is stand back and watch. Look for anything different with him.

One thing to look at, is there something different about his home from his old. New lumber, new paint, extra dust, different bedding? All of these can bother them.

I'd agree with Robin. If you can pick him up and examine him really well all over, that would help too. (Be sure to listen to his chest and throat/head for any wheezing, etc).

K, he is very friendly he will let me pick him up and love on him. He does have to put on a show for the ladies tho so they don't think he's really enjoying it. He acts fine other then the crowing thing which is going on 3 weeks now. He eats fine, drinks fine. We did move the cage because it was on a hill and with all the rain we had it was staying pretty muddy from the run off. Now they are on flat dry ground,

That happen with my ameraucana rooster and silkie rooster then it went away in 2 weeks. We found out that they were under the weather but they were just fine after a little while.
