I have two Silver Sebright roos who are at the very obnoxious "mount anything they can catch" stage. And they tag-team the girls, coming at 'em from both sides. The Big Girls generally don't submit (we have an Official Rooster Head of Flock, after all!) but the two Lakenvelders are smaller chickens than the other large fowl, so the Sebright boys can catch either one of 'em
When I'm home, I yank 'em off Millicent & Minerva. They've pulled feathers from the backs of their heads/necks and treaded their backs bald. Poor girls! I'm not even sure they're getting what they want, because their ummmm parts don't reach down the length of the Big Girls' backs. (So the M&Ms get even more torn up, from the Sebright boys trying harder.)
I have two Sebright pullets who are just short of laying - maybe another month. Hopefully they'll start submitting to "their own kind" and some of this pressure will be off the Lakenvelder Sisters.
