is one of these frizzle cochins a cockerel?

I bought two red frizzle Cochin bantams from Ideal Hatchery. They are now 6 weeks old. One is much smaller but appears to be getting a bigger and redder comb than the other...I've noticed in some of my other breeds that my "guaranteed" pullets have the bright red comb as well. So I was hoping that it is not neccesarily a cockerel. I don't know much about Cochins yet. I haven't had time to sit down and research. Is the smaller one a male or just developing faster and could still possibly be a pullet?

Oh man! That crossed my mind, too. The other one's BEAK looks reddish but it doesn't have the big red comb...Wouldn't that be my luck! We've only had chickens for 3.5 months. If these are BOTH males that would make NINE total cockerels in the bunch! And I am suspicious about another one! We have already given away seven to date!

Thanks for the input!

They look like boys to me, sorry. A friend of mine ordered 10 frizzles from a hatchery and not only did they send her 10 frizzles but they sent her 40 free frizzle roos to keep them company. Needless to say she was a bit steamed. Didn't mean to get off topic but it made me think of it.

FORTY!!!! OMG! I ordered two Columbian Wyandottes on my order. They were sold out and decided to send 4 barred rock males instead! (I think when they took the 2 off, they needed to add extras for warmth!)

I thought THAT was frustrating!

What makes you guys think that the one without the big red comb is a male? Just curious on what I should be looking for. Thanks!

Definitely the one on the left is a male. The one on the right is leaning towards boy too, but you could cross your fingers and hold at hope for that one to be a pullet...the comb and wattles are still pretty big and red for that age.

Ah ha! That makes sense! We bought a chick for my little neice for her birthday. She wanted a RED one! Of course it lives with our flock, but she wanted a chick of her own like my kids had. She named it "Razzle Dazzle." It was REALLY tiny and died at 2 days old. So, this time, I got TWO-hoping that one would be a pullet and Razzle Dazzle wouldn't have to "leave" again. She chose the smaller one and we named it Razzle Dazzle 2! The other they called "Coco Puff." When Razzle Dazzle 2 started looking Roo-ish, we switched them! Looks like I may be searching for a Razzle Dazzle THREE soon!
