Is Phyllis a Dude?

Phyllis does crow. The crow needs some work, but it is totally a crow. No major wattles or comb, though. Thoughts? She/he is about 3 months in this video. TIA!

I think Phyllis is actually "Phil." lol That happened to me. I named my thought-to-be a girl Hilda, but Hilda turned out to be a roo. We never changed his name though. hahaha Adds a little comedy when friends are over. "That's my rooster Hilda." Visitors look at you like you're an idiot. lol! My roo is soon to have his own condo as I don't want fertilized eggs but don't want to get rid of him. He started crowing a couple of weeks ago at about 8 weeks.

I only ask because a farmer told me that they had a hen that layed eggs AND crowed. I thought maybe it was a transgendered hen. lol

And that can happen, but it's older hens, usually with hormonal issues. Three month crowing birds are male.

I should have clarified.......my internet connection's too funky to play videos...........public connection at a large teaching hospital..........I'm lucky if I can get my posts to post lol. Your video's probably just fine. It's not you, it's me

And, he is so lucky that he is the coolest bird we have. The only crested. So- he gets to stay.

I am not changing his name, though. "Phyllis Diller is a dude" has a nice ring to it.

If I could figure out how to post a sound piece on here I'd let you hear mine crowing. It's hilarious. It sounds like a roo going through puberty. He doesn't have the whole crow down right. He will soon though!! And yes, it will get better. I recorded him on my cell last week and he's sounding better this week but still has LOTS of work to do! Phyllis Diller is a dude.....
