My husband thinks he heard a very strange sound coming out of the coop this AM. Both these chickens are about 4 months old, but neither have combs or wattles. The farm store I bought them from said they were guaranteed ee female chicks.....but Phyllis looks more like a Polish breed. Any help/input would be appreciated!

Phyllis is a gold laced Polish, and I'm pretty sure it's a cockerel, sorry. The 'do is wild and crazy, a female's is softer and rounded and more even. I'm pretty sure I see saddle feathers there, although a good profile pic would help confirm.

Your other bird is an EE pullet--very pretty

I knew either male or female had a wilder "do" than the other but I couldn't remember. Polish are such a sneaky bird

Well dang, Cockerel seems to be the consensus here. Thanks for your feedback everyone! Wonder what I will do with him. :( I am a little attached to his funky personality. The white ee in the pic will be so sad because they are literally BFF's. I have 4 other pullets that are 5 weeks old and not out in the coop yet. I should probably introduce them around the time i have to re-home Phyllis so that my ee doesnt go into depression.
