The grund where we are going to place our chicken run is littered with small pieces of plaster, so small and numerous that they are impossible to remove. Will the plaster be dangerous to eat? Can we leave the ground as it is, or do we have to cover it up with clean soil?

So long as it's not covered with lead paint or some such it should be safe. Plaster is primarily hydrated calcium sulfate.

It's not covered with anything poisonous - it's old plates of plaster with paper on one side, who have crumbled to pieces.

Thanks a lot - you just made me a lot less worried. :)
