I believe that Pluto is now considered a microplanet or some such silliness, along with two or three other chunks of rock about the same size.

No it is not a planet. If we give pluto "planet status" that we have to give Ceres (an asteroid) Planet status.
Thus to keep it simple astronomers and NASA demoted it to a dwarf planet. There are several dwarf planets
now in our solar system.

Dwarf planets are still planets cause if they aren't than midgets are not humans.

Not a planet.... but some of Jupiter and Saturns moons could almost be planets.....
