Is POA automatic renewal legal in California??

In our neighborhood we have units 1, 2, & unit 3. Unit 1 and 2 have no HOA'S (It was there time to renew but they voted no more HOA'S) but unit 3 has automatic renewals. Is that even legal? PLEASE PLEASE help!

You will have to read California's laws on automatic renewal. Unless California statutes specifically forbid automatic renewal, it should be legal if the contract (the CC&Rs) are legal. Automatic renewal of CC&Rs was very common in older HOAs. Newer ones tend to have living documents, meaning that they never end, but a method for making changes is defined and prescribed in the document.
