Is Popcorn ok for Chickens?

We had some leftover popcorn.. I have never given it to the chickens, don't know why. But is it an ok treat?

From what I understand it is but only if it has no butter or salt.

It is fine, popped or unpopped. I never understood the butter comment truthfully, but have heard it. Salt I wouldn't worry about much either, as long as it isn't overly salty..

Unless you salted it to death it's fine to feed it as is.

About once a week a pop up a huge batch for the chickens. I spread it out in the coop for them to find and munch on when it is really cold.
