Ok, so I'm gonna have a house rooster instead of a house hen, doable!! Good thing he has nicknames huh?

Are you allowed to have roosters in your location? I don’t know if you would like to keep the chicken in the house all the time. They crow during the day too.

No, I have a small mixed flock. Mimi had to heal first bcuz half his head was riped open and when I tried to add two chic's a week younger it didn't go well at all, he was also terrified of the big chickens and while all this was going on he was inside in the A/C and I'm Texas where we've been having days at 110 degrees or higher.

I intended to add another section to my coop that's separate and when it cools down a little maybe get him some of his own girls. I'd love to keep him inside (he's a cuddler!) but I know he needs a regular chicken life and that isn't being the sole chicken.

Most definitely! About ten minutes outside is all it takes before I start seeing signs of him being hot. My girls have shade, ice water a pool and frozen fruit to get thru the heat.
