Is selling gamefowl illegal?

My Father says it is, or atleast we could probably attract the attention of some unwanted company...aka Law Enforcement.

I doubt we will, but I'd just like an opinion.

Edit: No, I'm not using them for fighting. They're just gamefowl at heart and that's why he said it's probably not a good idea to sell since people use them for cockfighting and the 5-o might think we're using them to fight.
