Is she close to laying?

She is just about 32 weeks. Does her comb look like it's getting close to her first egg? It still looks pretty small to me but seems to be getting a bit redder. She is a buff orpington. Her name is Sunny :)

What a pretty girl! My Buff Orpingtons started to lay at just about 6 months and 8 months. Does Sunny squat when you approach her/go to pick her up? I found that behavior developed in each of my girls just before they laid their first egg.

No squatting yet, but I was hoping like her comb was looking like she was headed that direction. :idunno

Currently I am feeding this:

But I am looking to switch because they don't seem super interested in it.
Ah, okay. Thank you! Was wanting to get nutritional info on it. Can’t find it.

If you are going to switch, I recommend Purina Premium Poultry Feed, crumble version, or pellets, whatever your chickens prefer. It is non-organic. They do have an organic line of that though. (If you prefer to feed organic.) More expensive, however, better for your birds. I use the non-organic version. $14.99 for a 40 lb bag. Golden-orange yolks and rich flavor. Chickens dig it.

That is a way better price AND has better reviews! Guess I will have to visit Tractor Supply Co. We have been using Amazon since I'm lazy. :D

I have a Buff Orpington that is extremely similar to yours :) She is squatting, so I am expecting eggs from her and her sister any day now! Post pics of her first egg! :ya

I will! That gives me hope that your hen looks similar. I am betting mine will start squatting very soon then.
