This is my first guinea keet and her feathers look a little curly and was just wondering if it was normal to have a fluffed look. She is very healthy, alert and bonded to her little bantam friends. It really funny watching this big guinea keet in with the bantams, they love riding her around the brooder and she doesn't mind! This is the best pic I have of her, she really wanted to get back to her little friends!

I've had a few of my keets get the frizzled look around her age too, they were being raised on purina game bird chow with 30% protein in it (first time I've ever used it), so I thought maybe the high level of protein had something to do with it. I also thought maybe they were spending too much time sleeping under the heat lamp, cuz they were always crashed, stretched out right under it (their choice, they had plenty of room to move away from the hottest, brightest area). I currently have a few more keets about her age under a lower watt bulb and they are eating a different game bird diet with a little less protein in it... their feathers are completely smooth
