So I have this cute chick. She’s a speckled Sussex. I’ve had her for 11 days. I got her at the local farm and feed. She seems pretty active, she eats and drinks regularly, she sleeps, etc. She runs around the brooder. But she is small compared to the others, and feels very light. When I hold her, she might eventually settle down, but she peeps at the top of her little lungs for a while. Her poop is also pretty runny. Here are some pictures:

Any help is greatly appreciated!
are all of her poops runny or just some of them? i was super worried when my new chicks had runny poop, but then i found out that the oily/runny/foamy poop is called cecal poop, it occurs around every 10 passings. if that’s the case it is very normal and healthy!
if all of the poops are runny or bloody i might try to treat her and the other chicks for coccidiosis.
about size, she sounds pretty healthy so i think she might just be smaller. one of my 2 week old chicks grows a little slower but is just as healthy as her sisters (besides her cross beak starting up) :)

Thanks so much! The poop always seems to be runny, but no blood...

i would just wait for odd behavior then :) if she starts to act lethargic or if the other chicks start to have odd poop too, i might treat them for coccidiosis just in case. she’s adorable!

Thanks, ok! I hope she will be fine!

Have you given them any probiotics? Not sure if that would help her poops or not, just an idea. I also have a slow grower, she's 4 weeks old and at least a week behind on growth, but completely healthy seeming otherwise.

Medicated feed often leads to odd-looking poops due to the way that some chicks bodies absorb and process the medication. I think you should just keep a watchful eye on her. Good luck!
Oh ok! Thank you!
