Is she sick?

One of our 6 month old Australorps has a naked breast. She is not bloody or scabbed...not picked at. She's eating and free ranging and drinkng. She doesn't appear ill, though she does sit in the nest box more than any other bird. What is wrong w/her? Why is she doing this? How do I keep her from freezing now?! We're in NE Ohio and the temps will be freeeeezing very soon. Oye!

It's not unheard of for a 6 month old to go broody. I had an ameraucana do it.

Keep a few golf balls in her favorite nest and see if she stays on them at night.
