Is she trying to go broody or just being weird?

Ok, Summer is broody and sitting in 12 eggs. Snowi, her 'sister', has kinda been hanging with her the last few day, usually just adding to the clutch (I have removed three of hers from under Summer). Today, however, she had stolen two of the hatching eggs after adding one of her own and was sitting on them. I kicked her out of the crate and blocked her from getting back to Summer. I also set up a golfball an a unfertilized egg in her favorite spot. She keeps going back into the coop and even laid an egg with the new 'clutch' but otherwise has spent the day mostly in the run. As a note, she usually lays her eggs under the coop, so actually laying in the coop period is a behavior shift.

Is she going broody or just feeding off of Summers vibe? I need insight here, Summer was my first broody and she went from normal to full blown broody before I could blink.

Could be either. If they are the same breed from the same place, she may well give you no pre-broody signs too. I know I'm just no help at all.

They are the both bantam brahmas, Summer is buff and Snowi is light. I bought them from the same breeder and if I remember right they were hatched very close together, like within a week or so if not the same hatch.

I stuck two more eggs in her developing clutch and she seemed to gravitate to it more then. I suppose time will tell. :/

*sigh* I don't know what she is but I even set up her own little nest with eggs and she will go over and hang out near it, maybe sit down and fuss for five minutes, then she gets back up and goes about her business for the next hour or two before noticing the eggs again. Strange bird...
