Is she trying to tell me something?

I have heard (maybe untrue) that quiet chickens are happy chickens. As of late my usually quiet but socially outgoing hen has been sitting at the back door waiting for me to wake up. After being fed she continues to strut around constantly sqwaking. But its not the same sound as the "I laid an egg" song. Then if I go back in the house she hangs around the back door making crazy noises.

I feel like there is something she needs or wants. I just can't figure it out. The other hen just goes about her business all day without so much as a peep. (bad joke)

Am I overthinking this?

How old is she?
Only 2 birds?
Where and how do you usually feed them?

IIRC a while back you were feeding at porch and wanted to get them off if it?

Yes. 2 birds. And yes I was feeding them from the porch. Which I have stopped. Now I feed them further out in the yard.

One of ours gets very excited when we open our back sliding door. She hears it and immediately starts mumbling until you come over to her. Then of course she doesn't want to be pet or picked up, but is pretty excited at the thought of snacks.
