Is sieven dust safe for chickens?

Sevin is approved for many things, however it was found to make thin egg shells in songbirds years ago. I am thankful I have never had to use the stuff in 20 years of chicken keeping.

I recently bought some Cochin hens and didn't realize they had fleas on them till I got home. I've used seiven dust before so I put them in a carry cage and badically poured it all over them lol came back in like a hour there wasn't a flea to be seen on them it works with only good effects.
