Is stale sourdough bread safe?

My semi-free range hens get pellets, fresh veggie scraps and the usual supplements. Can I safely give them sourdough bread as a treat after it gets stale (but not moldy)?

I have feed my chickens all manner of bread, fresh, stale, rye, white, wheat. No problems. However I would not feed any that has visible mold on it.

AND NO GARLIC BREAD!!!!!!

Garlic & onions supposedly make eggs taste bad, but I have not noticed this happening. Some folks feed garlic as a natural dewormer.

It may have been nothing but the power of suggestion, but you feed a hen onions you smell onion when you break open the eggs, same with garlic.
