I bet so! I'm glad you asked. Now it should pop up if anyone does a search in the futureThat’s why I asked here. I was reeeealy getting nervous that I had a bunch of roosters when I am looking for feathers.

I was exactly thinking about her!!! It really led me off...remember my thread on dewormings...ughAgreed.
If I have to hear about Becky and her DE one more freaking time...
DE, and pumpkin seeds, and pea sized amounts- oh my!I was exactly thinking about her!!! It really led me off...remember my thread on dewormings...ugh![]()
Yeah! They sugar coat everything! They make chicken owning sound so much easier than it is.They offer these extreme ideas to get people curious and wanting to see what they have to say, which makes them more money. It's sad that there isn't a simple way to figure out what's truth and what's hot air from someone's bottom. Investigating is absolutely necessary.
And they add how theres no egg withdrawel!
So glad I found a community of people who arent afraid to tell the blunt truth!I bet so! I'm glad you asked. Now it should pop up if anyone does a search in the future![]()
Right! If it's easy peasy, it rarely works (well except for whenever it does, which is more rare).Yeah! They sugar coat everything! They make chicken owning sound so much easier than it is.
"Add a little DE, sprinkle it on the ground every once in a while, and your good to go with parasites!"
But really, you have to dose each chicken using a syringe, its a pain...
I agree with this 100%Feather sexing of chicks may work in some breeds/strains, but across the board NO.
Depends on breed, or cross. So I saw on a blog that someone did a sexing experiment with wing length at 3 days, and tail feathers at 1 week. I was NOT about to hold 15 chicks down on day 3 to investigate their wings, but tail feathers are pretty clearly visible. They will all be 1 week by Thurs morning. (They were hatched from Tue-Thurs). They were all vent-sexed by the hatchery & should all be females, but we know how that goes. I have 4 that do not have tail feathers yet. Is tail feather growth at week accurate at all? Should I post pics of their fluffy little rumps on Thursday just for fun? You guys have lots of experience...whatddya think?
Second question, if one of my EE ends up being a roo, will the colored egg gene pass down to his offspring? Thanks all!
