I am not sure if thats what it is and i want to know so i can try to treat it. This is my second egg hatching i have no experience.

It hatched few hours ago, it just dried. The vein that goes from the egg to its belly was around its leg, i had to cut it loose my self.

I hope i can fix that

I use 2 tiny little rubberbands that I usually use. I take 2 and I tie them to eachother to fit the little chicks legs. I put 1 on each leg to make kind of a straddle. It has worked for me before to correct the chicks. But not all of them. You will need to leave it on them for 1-2 weeks. But you will need to make sure that it is still on there legs sometimes it falls off. Some can get up and walk with this and go back to normal and others won't and they die. Hopefully in your case it will work.

yes but can you tell me if it is splayed leg condition what you see on the picture?

Will tape work?

edit to add: will the sponge method work on chicks? i think i will try that

Can anyone answear me? I know that on the splayed legs condition the leg/legs go to the sides, this goes to the back, could this be splayed leg as well? I need to know what i am looking for. The chick is now dry, has rested(isolated) and is trying to stand up........ i am so sorry for that chick. It also has something that i hope is not GUTS out of the belly..... i am starting to think it could be guts... i dont want that chick dead and i must do whatever is possible to cure it, if i was sure i cannot cure it, i would have killed it already. Its in deep pain. I also have another chick that is 3 days old and is pecking the guts out of the others belly like crazy and is trying to take them away, thats why they are isolated.

To tell you the truth i am starting to believe that this chick is doing me a favor and lives a little longer than it should, i didnt expect it to be as strong as it is, its a 23 day hatch that went bad with low humidity and high temperatures. I also have 1 last chick hatching delayed, its almost out of the egg...i dont know what to expect there...

The answear i am looking for is "yes its splayed leg you can cure it" or "no splayed legs point to the sides and not the back". After 5 fail attempts to fix splayed leg with some duct tape, i give up. I will wait to see if the belly cures first, it looks like critical condition...if it dies, i dont want it to leave this earth with tied legs by me, its better if it goes peacefully without so much suffering because of my passion... now some will tell me "then why did you help it in the first place", i also helped the first chick and it got out perfectly and now is a very healthy and super strong little soul, that chick also could not get out of the egg.
