Do I need to intervene and help this chick please? It’s yellowing now around the zip area. Thank you

How long has it been pipped, and what is the humidity level?

I needed to intervene in the end as it had all dried right out and was sticking to his feathers, my first time and I didn’t really know what I was doing but natural instincts was to use a damp paper towel and try help him out as much as I could. My only worries now is how cold it must’ve got and if he’s going to survive from hours of trying to get out. Thank you, how cute is he though

We had to do the same thing last year the chick survived! Congrats!

I intervene when it seems necessary. If you see any fresh blood, stop and put the egg back in the incubator for a few hours. If no progress, try again, repeat.
Congrats. It takes a bit of courage, especially when folks scold you. :jumpy
