My chicken left her egg to take care of one of her chicks. My incubator broke and so I have tried to keep it warm it started out ok but now I’m not sure. Any ideas?? The first pic is what it looks like now the second was a few days ago.

When my silkie eggs were 2 days away from hatching I unknowingly and accidentally moved past the cord and unplugged the incubator and all 9 eggs were in the cold for 9 and a half hours and I plugged it back in and everything was good

try whistling and you might see the chick move or if its a day away you might hear it respond back

Watch closely for a minute or two without moving the egg. Check for movement. To me it looks dead but I can’t be sure. I had two eggs die on my recently and the looked like that. The veins have receded thats not a good sign. I left them in there for three extra days before I finally gave up when I smelled one and knew it was dead.

Thanks we were hoping for the best. I will watch a few more days.
