Is the eglu cube really as good as it seems?

Has anyone here bought an eglu from omlet or eglu cube? Is their sevice good? Is it easy to move? And, most importantly, is it worth it? Thanks!!/img/smilies/smile.png ~Ruby

Hi Ruby, this reply is a few years too old but in case someone out there wants a more recent opinion about Eglus. We have had one since 2007 and love it. We initially had our hens in the Eglu's run but built a much larger run a few years ago. This was because cleaning the Eglu's run was harder in that you had to bend over a lot to rake the inside. I wish the company would create some top opening for the run somehow so that one could just flip the top open for cleaning. Otherwise, the Eglu itself is great. SO easy to clean. I just pull out the tray to dump the poop in our compost and pull off the top to hose it down and dry. I wish there were a way to have an automatic door but it's not crucial. Since building a bigger run for our girls, we have no issues at all. I really love that we can hose down the coop and since we don't have more than four chickens (1 or 2 of them usually a bantam), the size of the coop isn't a big deal. I would love the Cube but until (or if) the price goes down, it is cost prohibitive. We're on our 6th year with the Eglu and it has proven to be worth the money.

thank you for the information i have been looking for a used eglu of any type, i found one on craigslist but in the 12 hours it took between getting a reply and trying to make an appointment it sold

I have one and I love it! An expensive investment (be prepared for a spouse talking about his hundred dollar breakfast!) but my 4 hens are doing great, and we even had a few days of -27F weather. No frostbite!
