Is there any difference between the birds that come from other hatcheries besides the original "Freedom Ranger Hatchery"?

To name a few:

Ideal's Red/black broilers
McMurry's Red Ranger
Meyer's Rainbow Ranger
Crackle's Red Broiler

I personally was looking into buying Farwest's Red broiler, they are closer than most (I'm in W. WA they are in E. OR I think) so reduced shipping charge and less time in a box for the chicks. Anyone have experience dealing with them or know a closer hatchery to western WA?

Dunlops in Idaho would be your other close hatchery.

I've never ordered from either, so don't have any personal experience. You might want to study the customer reviews for Far West before you order.

I also don't have any experience with those.

Unless the hatcheries are getting the hatching eggs from the same parent flock, yes there is a difference in hatcheries. You have different people with different skill levels selecting which birds go in the breeding flock. There may not be much difference between some hatcheries but there can be quite a bit of difference between others.

I think Oregon Blues gave excellent advice. Try to get some feedback from different customers.

Good luck!!!
