Hi
Most people showing birds myself included
Will wash birds befour a show.
I was my hens in the sink
First in luke warm water with washing up liquid
You rub the water in the direction of the feathers
So you don't break feathers by rubbing the wrong way.
Then I put them into the other side of the sink
In just plain luke warm water and wash off the suds
Then you dab the hen with a towel and then
Dry them with a hair dryer.
You can also wash them in basins
But I was them in my sink because it is split in half
Goodluck

Chickens dust bath. It's normal for them to dig a big hole and wallow around getting dirt under their feathers. It's how they manage insects. You could take them inside and bathe them, but they'll probably go right back outside and get dirty all over again.

If they feel they've gotten too dirty, they'll preen themselves. Good luck!
