Hi all. New by question again. Is there a specific temperature that gives a higher chance of hatching hens? I've read somewhere that the lower end of the guideline temp tends to hatch hens. Is this correct?

No, chickens do not have temperature dependant sex determination.

Pyxis.. Great explanation! Bravo.
6 years of raising pigs and a week ago our GOS Sow popped out 12 gilts (girls).. First time ever without have the burden of castration.. The chromosomes were on our side finally!

There is an old wives tale of the long pointed shaped eggs are roosters but I never took the time to mark them before incubation. We just go with the flow with chicks. It is what it is. :bow

Ah thanks everyone :) I thought it seemed a little odd when I originally read it.
