Is there a rule to how many chicken you need to have in a flock?

We are new to all this we have 2 chicks and 4 ducklings coming..they are all going into the coop at the same time in their own areas ...is 2 chickens to little?

I don't think so ...apparently the more the merrier - but 2 is fine.

Ok I was getting nervous...I will have my hands full with 4 ducks 2 chickens 2 cats 2 dogs a bunny and my fish

Single chickens don't do well, they are flock animals and need the company of others to be happiest. For this reason many folks advise to get three chicks, to still have two in case of a loss.
