Is there a soulution?

Is there a solution to prevent people making topics such as "Will X time X = Sexlink?" or "EE or Araucana?" or "Whats the difference between hatcherys and breeders?"

It just seems like every day there is a topic of that nature that has a WHOLE thread someone has put time and effort to inform BYC about and they are not utilized. I don't know if people do not know they are out there or too lazy to look it up? I know we are all not perfect, and when I first joined I made a few topics as such, but now i use the search alo t, most of the time before I create a topic!

Is there a solution? Anyone have any good ideas!

I think maybe a lot of people aren't aware of the search. The best thing I think is to direct them to the existing thread when they make these post. Or you can just ignore them.

Unfortunately, the search feature on BYC is not very useful, IMO. There's just too much information out there and no good way to narrow your search parameters. Maybe that is an improvement on the "to do" list?

There used to be more stickies at the top with breed threads and other frequently accessed topics...I should check and see what's on the lone remaining sticky. Maybe it's all been compiled in there.

Yep, the sticky has a bunch of breed topics and sex-link thread and such. It looks like it might need to be updated a bit, though.

Maybe we need to make them more user friendly and easier to find for the new members?
