Is there a time limit for editing posts or threads?

I just went and updated one of my threads in the "What breed or gender is this?" section, and was going to change the title to let people know I'd added new photos, but the "Edit thread" button is not there. I'm not able to edit my first post (made 3 weeks ago), either, I noticed, although I can still edit the posts I made a week ago or less (I didn't post between 3 weeks and 1 week ago in that thread). I hadn't noticed that before - is that a normal thing with the new forum?
