Is there a time

when you can be sure they will all survive?

We have been holding off on naming the chicks just in case one doesnt make it. But they are now a week old, have been with us since last Friday. Everyone seems to be healthy, eating well, playing, doing chick stuff.

Is there a point where you can be almost sure they will make it to adulthood.

You are probably just fine at this point. However we lost one of our chicks last year when she was four weeks old. We went to bed and everyone was just fine.... we woke in the morning to find her dead. I have no idea why and it was very hard on us ... she was my 7 yr. old daughters and yes, she'd named her already.


Still - you are past the most worrisome time frame.
