Is there a way to make a mating saddle that is DIY?

I need to know how to make a diy chicken saddle. One of my hens looks as if they are suffering. Here back and elbows have no feathers on them..... the skin also looks rubbed raw. The roo tryed to mate with her and I'm afraid of him tearing up her back skin....
