From what I've observed with my adult flock - all LF brahmas - they do have a cycle. Brahmas are good winter layers.
My brahmas will have a slow down, in early spring and again in early winter. Right now they are molting, as they did last year at this time, but once they get back to laying they will lay well all winter.
What I have also noticed is that each individual hen has a cycle, about a month long. Towards the end of the cycle, the eggs will get slightly smaller and lighter in color. She'll rest for a few days, sometimes a week, and then start all over again with larger, darker eggs.
Been this way for two years.
