Is there any benefit to Manna Pro Water Protector?

Last summer I used the water protector and didn't have any scum. This summer I had planned to sell the chickens but life and my wife got in the way, so they're still here. I just finished washing scum from the waterer and once I post this reply I'm going out to put Manna Pro Water Protector in it. I don't like buying tiny little bottles at high prices so I'll be searching for a better source but I'm not tossing out a watering system that works year around without dripping all over the coop floor for one that will.

Potassium sorbate is the key. I use it to stop the unwanted bacteria that can set up in wine. We use it to stop fermentation so you can sweeten the wine. Look at the ingredients in the water clear and egg cleaner all natural product. The key is the potassium. It is completely safe. You drink it when you drink wine and many other products with "safe" preservatives. The problem is it doesnt work long. Maybe 2 to 3 weeks. Go to ebay or amazon and look up wine making products. You can buy a ton of it in powder form foe cheap. We use 1/2 spoonful per gallon.
