I have 6 week old bantam chicks and I played the straight run lottery and lost, out of 9 I think 7 are roosters including this one that I had a lot of hope for. Any chance it isn't a roo? And what breed does it look to be?

I figured. Now I have to decide, do I keep him or my little black roo that rides on my arm. Or do I chicken math the flock up to support two roos? I'm sure my husband senses a disturbance in the force right now, lol.
Get rid of the black one, coddled cockerels typically turn into monsters when hormones set in, which everyone has had the least petting/holding.

I swear I'm not trying to coddle him, it's all on him, I can't stick my had in the brooder without him landing on me.
My roo was snuggled from day one and he stayed really sweet and tame as an adult. Would come inside the house and lay down and nap on my lap like a cat haha.

I know that’s not everyone’s experience. I really think it depends on the personality of each rooster.

If you have the room you could do a bachelor coop? Apparently without the ladies to protect they’ll stay sweet tempered. I have zero experience btw I have just read this in many places.
