Is there any infections that can occur in my backyard chicken and me?

Hello, I'm new here. But I was wondering if there is any disease that can be inflicted via my backyard chicken.The farmers around here are starting to get itching around the body lately. Also, some are complaining that their visions at night are impaired. I would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks in advance.

The itching could be lice, mites or fleas.
Practicing good hygiene should preclude sharing diseases with your chickens.
From the most likely to least likely, the following are most of those things.
Campylobacteriosis, necrotic enteritis, colibacillosis, salmonella, conjunctivitis, thrush, aspergillosis, farmer's/henworker's lung, chlamydiosis, erysipelas, cryptococcosis, histoplasmosis, clostridium, staph, listeriosis, toxoplasmosis, pseudomonas and worms.

My mother got histoplasmosis in one of her eyes, as a child, from the chicken coop.

I am not an expert, but I think that campylobacter and salmonella are two of the most common possible infections from having chickens. But more people probably get those from eating undercooked chicken in a restaurant more often than at home. Regular handwashing after handling chickens, droppings, eggs, or equipment can help prevent most infections. Wearing a mask when scooping or cleaning out dirt and droppings from the coop is also good practice to help prevent histoplasmosis, a fungus in bird droppings. Here are a few articles to read:
