Is there any way this could possibly be a pullet? Re-homing 5 week old tonight

My friends are coming over tonight, they are in need of a rooster for their flock, and I'm pretty sure this one is one (thanks to BYCs!). If you've read my other threads you'll know this is my favorite, and everyone locally keeps telling me there's no way to know until they are adults. From the beginning "Dora" has been different than all the rest, and sprouted a comb very early. Now it's big and red and s/he is getting into fights. S/he is still kind of a loner compared to the rest, and very brave and daring.

I don't want to miss placing him in a great home, but don't want to give away my favorite bird either! I thought of keeping him/her longer to see what happens, but I'd also like to get rid of him sooner than later and let the other 5 (who don't start trouble) settle into their own groove without the influence of him. Here is a picture this morning at about 5 weeks old. Thanks!

I think Donald needs to go to a new home. The sooner, the better. My splash marans went from being a Cricket, to Jiminy Cricket, to Just Jim. For now, he will stay with the girls, but the second he starts to charge me, he’s going to a bigger flock. So far, he’s being a gentleman.

If you have the opportunity to send him to a good home now, take it!

With that red comb and red wattles at 5 weeks you have a boy. To me, that is as straightforward and sure as you can get.

It is normal for the boys to become favorites. They are bold and curious, eager to mix with you. I suggest getting rid of him before you grow even more attached. Sounds like an awesome opportunity for that.
