As my flock is quickly dwindling due to a majority of the original 12 chicks being roosters, is there any possible way this is a hen? I've heard of hens crowing however it seems this is a developing crow. Shot in the dark. ThanksRooster?:

Yup - you were all right. Both the white one and red one have (had) been competing on who could be loudest. Now that they are no longer in the coop with the others, another white one has taken their place and has started to crow. I'll give it some time to develop to make triple sure its a cockerel. Beyond this new development, there is another that we have no idea. He/she seems a bit special and loves to hop about and try to fly and is overall a bit aloof. Not sure if you can see it in that picture but his toes seems to be a bit crooked, although he manages to run and walk, just has some issues with stairs and getting down rocks. Seems to look like a rooster, but has never been aggressive or fighty and never makes a noise other than clucking. Its comb is flopped over and not overly bright red, and the tail isn't straight up and down like our other roosters have typically been.

If it is, that means we got 3 hens out of a batch of 12 eggs. Not very good odds; think I'll lay off the scratch tickets for a while.
